Cherry Falooda

Falooda is a very delicious and yummy beverage cum dessert recipe that is typically flavored with Rose syrup. Key ingredients falooda are  basil seeds, falooda sev, sweetened milk and ice cream. Here I made a tasty variation of the traditional falooda with Semia and using cherry syrup instead of rose syrup.

Ingredients

  1. Semia               : 1 cup C
  2. Basil seed/ takmaria      :  1 ½  T Sp.
  3. Milk      : 1 ½ cup
  4. Cherry  : 25-30
  5. Sugar   : 2 Tbl sp.
  6. Chopped Apple            :  1
  7. Almonds           :  15

Method

  • Soak the basil seed with enough water . Rest it for about 30 minutes.
  • Coarse powder the almonds.
  • Make a fine paste of cherry with 2 tsp of water.
  • Cook the semia with enough water . Here I used 2.5 cup water, after boiling add the semia  and cook for about 8 minutes in medium flame , don’t put the lid.
  • Switch off the stove and add the milk along with sugar and powdered almonds . Mix the ingredients well
  • Allow the mix to cool completely and then keep it into the fridge for chilling.
  • Mix the apple pieces into the cherry syrup and keep into the fridge .
  • Before serving, mix the semia and cherry mixture  and basil seeds together.
  • Serve the falooda  chill, garnished with some chopped almonds and cherries.

Tips:-
Serve falooda with ice cream to get a rich taste.
Quantity  of nuts and fruits may vary individual taste.
If you like the Falooda in layers , add one by one  , instead of mixing together.
Takmaria/ basil seed/ falooda seed will be available in most of the any Indian grocery stores.
