Achappam is traditionally made during festivals &amp; for <a href=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/%e0%b4%aa%e0%b4%b2%e0%b4%b9%e0%b4%be%e0%b4%b0%e0%b4%99%e0%b5%8d%e0%b4%99%e0%b5%be\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tea-time<\/a>. It is very delicate but incredibly crunchy &amp; delicious. Achappam looks similar to western rosette cookies. It\u00a0is made using \u2019achu\u2019 which means specially designed mould.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Rice flour : 3 cups<\/li><li>Sugar :3\/4 cups<\/li><li>Egg : 2 nos<\/li><li>Coconut milk : 2cups<\/li><li>Sesame seeds : 2 Tbl Sp.<\/li><li>Oil : For deep frying<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Preparation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take the flour in a big vessel and mix with coconut milk and prepare a thick batter.<\/li>\n<li>Beat the egg, sugar and sesame seeds in a separate container<\/li>\n<li>Mix the egg mix to the batter\u2022 Mix well and set aside for ~2 hours<\/li>\n<li>Boil Oil in a pan, and dip the achppam mould in it for about 5 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Dip the oil hot mould in to the batter, just to dip \u00be of the mould in to the batter.<\/li>\n<li>Dip the mold in to the boiling oil and wait for the batter to slip out to the oil.\u00a0(If the batter has difficulty to come out of the mold, use a spoon or fork to push the semi-hard batter out of the mold)<\/li>\n<li>Fry till golden brown color.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_136\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-136\" style=\"width: 599px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Achappam11.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-136\" src=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Achappam11.png\" alt=\"Achappam Steps\" width=\"599\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Achappam11.png 599w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Achappam11-300x240.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-136\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Achappam Steps<\/figcaption><\/figure>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A traditional and authentic teatime light sweet and crunchy snack of Kerala.
