This crispy snack is made either as sweet or salty and can be made of ripe or raw banana slices. The recipe here is the one followed typically in Kerala &#8211; \u00a0the salty version &#8211; made from raw unripe bananas\u00a0(\u0d28\u0d47\u0d28\u0d4d\u0d24\u0d4d\u0d30\u0d15\u0d4d\u0d15\u0d3e). \u00a0This is a common snack of the state and you can buy it any where while you travel across the state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><b style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Ingredients<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Raw Banana\u00a0<b>(<\/b>\u0d28\u0d47\u0d28\u0d4d\u0d24\u0d4d\u0d30\u0d15\u0d4d\u0d15\u0d3e) \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 : 3 nos<\/li>\n<li>Turmeric powder.\u00a0 \u00a0 1 Tsp<\/li>\n<li>Salt for taste<\/li>\n<li>Oil for deep frying<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Method<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Peel the skin of the banana<\/li>\n<li>Slice the banana into round thin pieces( with knife or grater).<\/li>\n<li>In a vessel, pour water (enough to cover the banana slices when added later)<\/li>\n<li>Add the turmeric &amp;salt and mix gently to cover the slices.<\/li>\n<li>Put the sliced banana and sock for 15-20 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the slices gently from the water and put it in a paper napkin for absorbing the water .<\/li>\n<li>Keep a\u00a0 kadai on the stove and pour enough oil for frying .<\/li>\n<li>Fry the banana slices till it will become crisp.<\/li>\n<li>Move the fried chips out of the kadai<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/BC-Steps1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-128\" src=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/BC-Steps1.jpg\" alt=\"BC-Steps\" width=\"640\" height=\"174\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/BC-Steps1.jpg 640w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/BC-Steps1-300x81.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Plantain chips (banana chips\u00a0or\u00a0banana wafers\u00a0)\u00a0in various forms can be found in most of the tropical countries.
