Thanks to the local Farmer\u2019s market! ..Multiple sardines recipes <a href=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/meen-peera-pattichathu\/\">[1]<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/mathi-pollichathu\/\">[2]<\/a> &nbsp;can be tracked on my blogs from the past. Recipe here was more customized from my cooking experiments and I can happily add it to the healthy dish category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>For marination<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>Sardines (matthi) &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; : 10<\/li><li>Chilly powder &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; : 2 T -Sp. (adjust)<\/li><li>Turmeric Powder&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; : \u00bc T-Sp.<\/li><li>Salt for taste<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><em>For masala<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Onion : 2 (medium)<\/li><li>Ginger &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; : 1-inch piece<\/li><li>Garlic : 5-6 cloves<\/li><li>Green chilly &nbsp;&nbsp; : 6 (adjust)<\/li><li>Pepper powder&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; : 1 T- Sp. (adjust)<\/li><li>Turmeric powder &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; : \u00bc &nbsp;T &#8211; Sp<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthline.com\/health\/food-nutrition\/things-you-didnt-know-about-garcinia-cambogia#1\">Malabar Tamarind<\/a> (kudam puli) &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; : 4 pieces<\/li><li>Curry leaves<\/li><li>Coconut oil &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; : 2 Tbl- Sp. (adjust)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Clean the fish and make gashes, so masala will penetrate easily.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"P2S CleaningSardines\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/18anUWinrqE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Marinate the fish with all the ingredients mentioned for marination and keep it for about 15 minutes.<\/li><li>Soak the tamarind in small quantity of water for about 20 minutes.<\/li><li>Thinly slice onion, ginger, garlic and green chilly.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/MU1-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4476\" width=\"433\" height=\"324\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/MU1-rotated.jpg 577w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/MU1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/MU1-150x112.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 433px) 100vw, 433px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In a bowl, add all the ingredients mentioned for masala (use half the oil this time) using hand knead well. Main purpose of this mixing is to make the onions soft.<\/li><li>Keep it aside for about 30 minutes. After 30 minutes you can see some water oozing from the onion.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Grease a pan \/ earthen pot, add the onion masala, and keep the marinated fish on top of onion masala along with some curry leaves.
