You will find this way healthier and tastier than the western versions. Served with the semi-crispy onion and natural masala from the fry, this crispy fried chicken can be served as a side dish to go with Parotta (layered bread) or Chapati. Also is a perfect choice as an appetizer for festive occasions and family events.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Chicken with bone : 3Lb<\/li>\n<li>Curd\/plain-yogurt : \u00bc Cup<\/li>\n<li>Water<\/li>\n<li>Salt \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 : 1 Tbl- Sp<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>For Marinating<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Kashmiri chilli powder : 1.5 Tbl- Sp (Adjust)<\/li>\n<li>Chilli flakes : 1.5 Tbl- Sp (Adjust)<\/li>\n<li>Pepper powder : 1 T- Sp (Adjust)<\/li>\n<li>Turmeric powder : \u00bd T-Sp<\/li>\n<li>Ginger-Garlic paste : 1 Tbl- Sp<\/li>\n<li>Garam masala : 1 T- Sp<\/li>\n<li>Rice flour : 4 Tbl- Sp<\/li>\n<li>Corn flour : 1.5 Tbl- Sp<\/li>\n<li>Vinegar : 1 T- Sp<\/li>\n<li>Salt for taste<\/li>\n<li>Lemon juice : 1 Tbl- Sp<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>For Frying<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Curry leaves<\/li>\n<li>Oil for frying<\/li>\n<li>Sliced onion 2<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Skin out and cut the chicken into big pieces, wash it well and keep it aside.<\/li>\n<li>In a bowl, add the yogurt along with salt and enough water to cover the chicken.<\/li>\n<li>Add the chicken pieces and mix it, make sure the water completely cover the chicken.<\/li>\n<li>Keep it in the fridge for about 3-5 hours ( This step is for making the chicken very tender and juicy).<\/li>\n<li>Take it out and then rinse it 3-4 times or until all the yogurt is fully washed off.<\/li>\n<li>Keep it in a colander to drain all the water, (if you are in a hurry, may use kitchen towel to wipe all the pieces).<\/li>\n<li>In a bowl add all the ingredients mentioned for marinating and add enough water to make a thick paste.<\/li>\n<li>Add the pieces and mix it, rub the masalas into all the pieces, make sure the masala completely covers the pieces.<\/li>\n<li>Keep it in the fridge for overnight (minimum 2 hours).<\/li>\n<li>15 minutes before frying, take the chicken from the fridge and keep it in room temperature.<\/li>\n<li>Heat oil in a pan\/kadai , add the chicken pieces along with enough curry leaves and deep fry it until golden brown.<\/li>\n<li>Finally add the sliced onion and fry it (only translucent) and take it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/crispy-fried-chicken\/p2s_ccrispy\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3961\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3961\" src=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/P2s_ccrispy.jpg\" alt=\"P2s_ccrispy\" width=\"800\" height=\"355\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/P2s_ccrispy.jpg 800w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/P2s_ccrispy-150x67.jpg 150w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/P2s_ccrispy-300x133.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tips:-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I used chicken thighs, that will be tastier than other parts. But you can use any pieces.<\/li>\n<li>Keeping the chicken in yogurt water is very important to make the pieces tender.<\/li>\n<li>Marinating overnight is preferred for better taste.<\/li>\n<li>This chicken fry is outside crisp and inside very soft and juicy.<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s a spicy fry, you can adjust the spice level.<\/li>\n<li>Frying in coconut oil will give the chicken fry is more taste.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is our traditional Kerala version of crispy chicken fry, prepared with natural spices.
