This two-part dish has Kozhi &#8211; Chicken prepared in thick spice gravy accompanied by Pidi &#8211; rice dumpling in a thick gravy like rice sauce, served together to be a delicious meal\u2026<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>For Chicken Curry recipe for this dish follow the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/kozhi-curry\/\">Kozhi Curry<\/a>\u00a0 Recipe<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients for Pidi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>For Kneading:<\/u><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Rice flour : 2 cups<\/li>\n<li>Grated coconut : 1 cup<\/li>\n<li>Jeera : 1 T-Sp<\/li>\n<li>Garlic : 1 clove<\/li>\n<li>Salt for taste<\/li>\n<li>Water \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 : 3 cups<\/li>\n<li>Coconut milk \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 : 1 cup<\/li>\n<li>Oil : 2 T-Sp<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><u>For Cooking:<\/u><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Water \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 : 3 cups<\/li>\n<li>Coconut milk : 2 cups<\/li>\n<li>Grated coconut : 1 cup<\/li>\n<li>Jeera \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 : \u00bc T-Sp<\/li>\n<li>Curry leaf<\/li>\n<li>Salt : For taste<\/li>\n<li>Rice flour : 1 \u00bd Tbl- Sp<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In a sauce-pan, boil 3 cups of water along with 1 cup of coconut milk.<\/li>\n<li>In a mixer add 1 cup of coconut along with garlic and 1 T- sp jeera; grind it into a coarse mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Roast 2 cups of rice flour for about 2-3 minutes (make sure not to burn).<\/li>\n<li>In a pan, add the water and coconut milk mentioned for kneading and let it boil well.<\/li>\n<li>In a bowl, add the roasted rice flour along with ground coconut mixture and salt; mix it together.<\/li>\n<li>Then add the boiled water and coconut milk a little at a time and mix with a spatula. (Don\u2019t pour water full to the mixture). Water quantity may vary, adjust accordingly.<\/li>\n<li>Add the oil and knead into smooth and soft dough.<\/li>\n<li>Make small lemon sized balls with hand and keep it.<\/li>\n<li>Coarse grind 1 cup of coconut and \u00bc T- Sp of jeera and keep it aside.<\/li>\n<li>In a pan boil 3 cups of water and 2 cups of coconut milk.<\/li>\n<li>Once it boiled well, add the ground coconut and jeera mixture along with curry leaves and salt..<\/li>\n<li>Now add the rice flour balls and let it cook for about 4-5 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>In a small bowl add 1.5 Tbl- Sp of rice flour with water and mix it without any lumps, add this to the pidi and let it cook for another 3-4 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/pidiyum-kozhiyum\/pidisteps1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3884\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3884\" src=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/PidiSteps1.jpg\" alt=\"PidiSteps1\" width=\"749\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/PidiSteps1.jpg 749w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/PidiSteps1-150x120.jpg 150w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/PidiSteps1-300x240.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 749px) 100vw, 749px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tips:-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t reduce the quantity of jeera and coconut; those give the pidi more flavor and taste.<\/li>\n<li>May grind 1-2 pearl onions while grinding the coconut mixture for kneading the doug.
