Though not a common preparation in Kerala cuisine, we do see some similar recipes prepared with tuna fish in some parts of the state. Fish with thick flesh is a perfect choice for this preparation and I used Salmon in this recipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>For frying:-<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Salmon : 1 Lb<\/li>\n<li>Turmeric powder : \u00bc T \u2013Sp<\/li>\n<li>Pepper powder : 1 Tbl- Sp<\/li>\n<li>Garam masala : \u00bd T-Sp<\/li>\n<li>Ginger \u2013garlic paste : 1 \u00bd \u00a0T- Sp<\/li>\n<li>Salt for taste<\/li>\n<li>Oil for frying<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>For masala:-<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Onion : 2 (Big)<\/li>\n<li>Crushed ginger : 1 inch<\/li>\n<li>Crushed garlic : 6 cloves<\/li>\n<li>Chopped green-chilli : 4<\/li>\n<li>Pepper powder : 1 \u00bd \u00a0T- Sp (Adjust)<\/li>\n<li>Turmeric powder : \u00bc T- Sp<\/li>\n<li>Chilli powder : 1 T- Sp( adjust)<\/li>\n<li>Fennel powder : \u00bd T- Sp<\/li>\n<li>Garam masala : \u00bd T-Sp<\/li>\n<li>Grated Coconut : 1 Cup (Adjust)<\/li>\n<li>Salt for taste<\/li>\n<li>Oil : 1 Tbl- Sp<\/li>\n<li>Curry leaves<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>For seasoning: &#8211;<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Mustard seeds \u00bd T- Sp<\/li>\n<li>Dried chilly 3<\/li>\n<li>Curry leaves<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Marinate the fish with the ingredients mentioned for frying (except oil). Keep it in the fridge for about 20 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Shallow fry the fish on both sides, don\u2019t make deep fry\/ crispy.it should be well cooked and soft.<\/li>\n<li>Mince the fish with hands, and keep it aside. (I used salmon fillet, if you are using fish with bone, fry it and debone the fish and then mince it)<\/li>\n<li>Heat oil in a pan and fry the seasoning ingredients.<\/li>\n<li>Then add onion along with salt, ginger, garlic and green chilly; fry the onions until translucent.<\/li>\n<li>Now add the pepper powder, turmeric powder and fennel powder; fry it for about 1 minute\/ until raw smell goes.<\/li>\n<li>Add the minced fish and fry it for about 2-3 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Then add the grated coconut (no need for grinding) and stir it for about 2 minutes.
