Fish pickles are excellent preservable food option for non-vegetarian spicy food lovers. I prepare fish pickles whenever I can find suitable fish in sale-deals. We can use any fish with thick flesh, tuna is a good option to make fish pickle because the pieces won\u2019t break.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>For Marinating: &#8211;<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Fish fillet (cut into medium sized cubes) : \u00a03 Lbs<\/li>\n<li>Chilli powder : 3 Tbl-Sp (adjust)<\/li>\n<li>Turmeric powder : \u00bd T-Sp<\/li>\n<li>Ginger \u2013Garlic paste : 1.5 T-Sp<\/li>\n<li>Salt for taste<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>For Mixing: &#8211;<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Sliced garlic : 1 Cup<\/li>\n<li>Chopped ginger : \u00bd Cup<\/li>\n<li>Green chilli (split to 2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 : 10<\/li>\n<li>Chilli powder : \u00bc Cup (adjust)<\/li>\n<li>Vinegar : 1- 1 \u00bc Cup<\/li>\n<li>Curry leaves<\/li>\n<li>Salt for taste<\/li>\n<li>Asafoetida\u00a0 : 2-3 pinches<\/li>\n<li>Oil : 1.5 Cup (adjust)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Marinate the fish with the listed ingredients.<\/li>\n<li>Rest it for about 20 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish pieces until brown. keep it aside.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/spicy-fish-pickle-kerala-style\/fishpk1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3408\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3408\" src=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/FishPk1.jpg\" alt=\"FishPk1\" width=\"1024\" height=\"463\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/FishPk1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/FishPk1-150x68.jpg 150w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/FishPk1-300x136.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the same pan add enough oil add the ginger garlic and fry it, after 2-3 minutes add the green chilli along with curry leaves and fry everything until brown.<\/li>\n<li>Then add the chilli powder and fry it till the raw smell is gone and oil starts separating from the masala.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the vinegar and let it boil, add salt in this point.<\/li>\n<li>Once boiled well, add the fried fish pieces and the Asafoetida (kayam) and mix it.<\/li>\n<li>Check the salt and vinegar and if you need more add a bit more.<\/li>\n<li>Switch off the flame &amp; allow the pickle to cool completely.<\/li>\n<li>Store it in an airtight container.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/spicy-fish-pickle-kerala-style\/fishpk2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3409\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3409\" src=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/FishPk2.jpg\" alt=\"FishPk2\" width=\"860\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/FishPk2.jpg 860w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/FishPk2-150x134.jpg 150w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/FishPk2-300x268.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 860px) 100vw, 860px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I used boneless tuna for this preparation.
