Pachadi\u00a0is a tangy and spicy dish which is un avoidable accompaniment to <a href=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/%e0%b4%b8%e0%b4%a6%e0%b5%8d%e0%b4%af%e0%b4%b5%e0%b4%9f%e0%b5%8d%e0%b4%9f%e0%b4%82\/\">Kerala Sadya<\/a> (feast). As like other Pachadi preparation, there is multiple variants of this preparation using curd \/coconut milk\/jaggery. The recipe here is of typical Travancore style Pachadi using coconut milk.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Sliced onion : 1 Cup<\/li>\n<li>Green Mangoes (medium) : 2<\/li>\n<li>Chilli (split to two) : 7 (adjust)<\/li>\n<li>Thin coconut milk : 2.5 Cup<\/li>\n<li>Thick coconut milk : \u00be Cup<\/li>\n<li>Crushed ginger \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 : \u00bd Tbl- sp<\/li>\n<li>Crushed mustard seeds : \u00bc T- sp<\/li>\n<li>Salt for taste<\/li>\n<li>Oil : 2 T- sp<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>For tempering:<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Coconut oil : 2 T- sp<\/li>\n<li>Mustard seeds : 1 T- sp<\/li>\n<li>Fenugreek seeds (uluva) : \u00a0\u00bc T- sp<\/li>\n<li>Dried red chilli : 4 (adjust)<\/li>\n<li>Curry leaves<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method :<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cut the mangoes into square pieces (see the pic).<\/li>\n<li>Heat pan, pour the oil once heated add the onions along with ginger and green chilli.<\/li>\n<li>Saut\u00e9 it until the onion becomes slight brown, then add the mango pieces and saut\u00e9 it for about 1 minute.<\/li>\n<li>Add the thin coconut milk and salt; close the lid and cook it until the mango pieces become soft.<\/li>\n<li>Now cook keeping the lid open, stir it while cooking to avoid sticking to the pan.<\/li>\n<li>Finally add the thick coconut milk along with crushed mustard seeds; heat for about a minute and switch off the stove.<\/li>\n<li>In a separate pan add the oil and splutter the mustard seeds followed by fenugreek seeds, red chilli and curry leaves.<\/li>\n<li>Add the same it to the Pachadi\u00a0and mix it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/manga-pachadi\/man-kich\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3281\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3281\" src=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Man-Kich.jpg\" alt=\"Man-Kich\" width=\"800\" height=\"355\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Man-Kich.jpg 800w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Man-Kich-150x67.jpg 150w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Man-Kich-300x133.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This is a thick consistency preparation, but can adjust to medium thickness if needed.<\/li>\n<li>Green mangoes are typically used for Pachadi\u00a0, but light yellow color can also be good<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is another Pachadi\u00a0dish, this time with Mangoes.
