Unlike the traditional Murukku recipe the dough here is prepared with cooked and pasted Urud-Dal (\u0d09\u0d34\u0d41\u0d28\u0d4d\u0d28\u0d4d), which gives majority of the taste to it. The rice flour added to the dough attributes to crispness for it, which makes it child-friendly.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Urud dal : 1 Cup<\/li>\n<li>Rice flour\u00a0 : \u00a04 Cups<\/li>\n<li>Salt for taste<\/li>\n<li>Oil for frying<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wash and soak the urud dal for about 1 \u00bd hours.<\/li>\n<li>In a pressure cooker add the dal along with 1 \u00bd cup of water and pressure cook it for about 3-4 whistles or until soft.<\/li>\n<li>After the pressure is released, open the cooker and let it cool completely .<\/li>\n<li>In a mixer, add the dal and make a fine paste, add water if needed while grinding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/chakli\/chakli1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3064\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3064\" src=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Chakli1.jpg\" alt=\"Chakli1\" width=\"640\" height=\"274\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Chakli1.jpg 640w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Chakli1-150x64.jpg 150w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Chakli1-300x128.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In a big vessel add the rice flour , salt and the ground urud dal and knead it well.<\/li>\n<li>Add enough water to make soft and smooth dough.<\/li>\n<li>In a deep bottom pan, heat enough oil for frying.<\/li>\n<li>Fill the murukku presser with dough ( I used sev maker stencils ).<\/li>\n<li>Once the oil is hot , reduce the heat into medium and squeeze the dough into the hot oil.<\/li>\n<li>Once it is fried enough on one side and flip it and fry the other side.
