It\u2019s traditionally prepared in clay-pot in conventional stove top. The dish I share here is the blend of this traditional preparation using the oven safe clay-pot, in oven. The preparation is very healthy and by choosing right ingredients, you can make it a perfect one dish meal to serve on festival occasions.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Whole chicken : ~ 2.5 Kg<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>For marinating:-<\/em><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Chilli powder : 2 Tbl-sp<\/li>\n<li>Pepper powder\u00a0 : 2 T sp<\/li>\n<li>Turmeric powder\u00a0 : \u00bc T-sp<\/li>\n<li>Ginger paste : 1-Tbl sp<\/li>\n<li>Garlic paste \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 :1.5 Tbl-sp<\/li>\n<li>Oil\u00a0 :1 Tbl-sp<\/li>\n<li>Lemon juice :1<\/li>\n<li>Yogurt : \u00bc Cup<\/li>\n<li>Garam masla\u00a0 : \u00bd T-sp<\/li>\n<li>Salt for taste<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>For masala :-<\/em><\/p>\n<ol start=\"12\">\n<li>Onion chopped( big)\u00a0 : 1<\/li>\n<li>Tomato chopped (big) : 1<\/li>\n<li>Ginger garlic paste\u00a0 : 2 T- sp<\/li>\n<li>Bell pepper ( medium) : 2<\/li>\n<li>Chilli powder : 1 Tbl-sp<\/li>\n<li>Turmeric powder\u00a0 : \u00bc T- sp<\/li>\n<li>Oil\u00a0 : 1 Tbl-sp<\/li>\n<li>Coconut milk\u00a0 : \u00bc Cup<\/li>\n<li>Salt for taste<\/li>\n<li>Boiled Egg : 3<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Soak the clay cooker into the water for about 15 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the skin from the chicken and clean it well.<\/li>\n<li>Make deep gashes on the chicken, especially in the thick part like breast and thighs.<\/li>\n<li>In a bowl add all the marinating ingredients and make a paste using enough water.<\/li>\n<li>Brush the masala paste into the chicken , covering it well.<\/li>\n<li>Rest it for\u00a0 minimum 2-3 hours into the fridge. Overnight will give the chicken more taste.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In a pan add the oil and saut\u00e9 the onions along with ginger garlic paste and salt.<\/li>\n<li>Once the onions became transparent, add the tomatoes and cook it until smashed.<\/li>\n<li>Add the chilli powder, turmeric powder and fry it for about 1 minute.<\/li>\n<li>Then add the chopped bell pepper and pour the coconut milk .<\/li>\n<li>Close the lid and cook it until the bell pepper is cooked.<\/li>\n<li>Open the lid and dry any excess liquid to make it a dry masala.<\/li>\n<li>Add the boiled eggs to the masala and mix well.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/chicken-nirachathu-in-claypot-oven\/pc3\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2949\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-2949 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/PC3.jpg\" alt=\"PC3\" width=\"336\" height=\"379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/PC3.jpg 336w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/PC3-133x150.jpg 133w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/PC3-266x300.jpg 266w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 336px) 100vw, 336px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take some masala and eggs and fill it into the chicken<\/li>\n<li>Finally tie the legs of the chicken together .<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/chicken-nirachathu-in-claypot-oven\/pc1-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2951\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2951\" src=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/PC1.jpg\" alt=\"PC1\" width=\"640\" height=\"274\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/PC1.jpg 640w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/PC1-150x64.jpg 150w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/PC1-300x128.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Baking:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grease the clay cooker with oil, keep the chicken into the cooker and fill some masalas into the sides of the cooker and close it with the lid.<\/li>\n<li>Keep the clay cooker into the oven and set the oven into bake 425 Fahrenheit (DO NOT PREHEAT THE OVEN) .<\/li>\n<li>Bake it for about 1.15 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Then open the lid and bake it for about 15 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Take out the cooker from the oven.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/chicken-nirachathu-in-claypot-oven\/pc2-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2952\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2952\" src=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/PC2.jpg\" alt=\"PC2\" width=\"448\" height=\"297\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/PC2.jpg 448w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/PC2-150x99.jpg 150w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/PC2-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 448px) 100vw, 448px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chilli powder and oil quantity may be varied to individual taste.<\/li>\n<li>Soaking the clay cooker is very important, otherwise it will break. Do not preheat the oven .
