In the traditional way Toddy is extracted directly from the coconut\/palm tree, where the sap is collected from the cut flower of the tree, over a period of time. Toddy, in its pure form is well considered to be healthy drink option for hardworking common man even with its alcoholic content. In Kerala it is also used in some rice bread preparation such as Kallappam. Here I share easy steps\u00a0for brewing naturally tasting Toddy at home, by\u00a0fermenting coconut water with minimal added ingredient.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Tender coconut water : 1 Ltr<\/li>\n<li>Yeast\u00a0 : 1 T-sp<\/li>\n<li>Sugar \u00a0: \u00a02 Tbl-sp (adjust)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In a\u00a0bowl\u00a0add the filtered coconut water, sugar and yeast and mix it well to dissolve the sugar and yeast.<\/li>\n<li>Then filter it through a strainer and pour it in an earthen pot \/ closed neck vessel and cover it with a cloth and tie it with thick thread or a piece of cloth.<\/li>\n<li>Keep it in a warm place for about 16 to 18 hours. Here i preheat the oven into 170 Fahrenheit for about 1-2 minutes and keep inside.
