Chakka (\u0d1a\u0d15\u0d4d\u0d15 -Jack Fruit) Pori is a variant of this popular tea-time snack, using pieced Jackfruit Bulbs (\u0d1a\u0d15\u0d4d\u0d15 \u0d1a\u0d41\u0d33) instead of banana. Tastes great and the crispness of the fried batter makes this a wonderful\u00a0snack \/dessert. Make sure to use the firm version of the Jack fruit (\u0d35\u0d30\u0d3f\u0d15\u0d4d\u0d15 \u0d1a\u0d15\u0d4d\u0d15) for this preparation.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Riped jackfruit bulbs : 10<\/li>\n<li>Maida\/ all-purpose flour : \u00bd Cup<\/li>\n<li>Wheat flour\/ atta : \u00bc \u00a0Cup<\/li>\n<li>Rice flour : 2 \u00bd Tbl- sp<\/li>\n<li>Baking soda :A pinch<\/li>\n<li>Water : ~ \u00a0\u00be Cup<\/li>\n<li>Sugar( optional) for taste<\/li>\n<li>Oil for frying<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/chakka-pori\/ckp1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2594\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2594\" src=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/CKP1.jpg\" alt=\"CKP1\" width=\"383\" height=\"336\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/CKP1.jpg 383w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/CKP1-150x132.jpg 150w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/CKP1-300x263.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 383px) 100vw, 383px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remove the seeds from the jackfruit bulb and make it into pieces (I made 3-4 pieces).<\/li>\n<li>In a bowl add the maida, wheat flour, turmeric powder, rice flour and baking soda.<\/li>\n<li>Mix it with a spoon for getting everything together.<\/li>\n<li>Now add a little water at a time and make a smooth batter, without any lumps .<br \/>\nThe batter should be thick enough to hold around the jackfruit ( not too thick or thin).<\/li>\n<li>Rest the batter for ~30 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>In a deep bottom pan, heat enough oil.<\/li>\n<li>Now dip each jackfruit pieces into the batter and cover it completely.<\/li>\n<li>Deep fry it in the oil in batches, flip it half way, until the color becomes light golden on both sides.\u00a0Do not overcrowd the pan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/chakka-pori\/ckp2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2595\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2595\" src=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/CKP2.jpg\" alt=\"CKP2\" width=\"480\" height=\"524\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/CKP2.jpg 480w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/CKP2-137x150.jpg 137w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/CKP2-275x300.jpg 275w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Banana Fry \u00a0or Pazham Pori (Sweet banana dipped in batter and fried in oil) is a very popular tea-time snack of Kerala.
