Another plus with Lemon rice is that, it can be served even as a single dish-meal, though it goes very well with a pappad (\u0d2a\u0d2a\u0d4d\u0d2a\u0d1f\u0d02) in tradition or even with \u00a0add-ins, veg or non-veg.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0Cooked Rice (Basmati\/medium grain ): 3 cup<br \/>\n2.\u00a0Lemon juce : Of 1 large lemon<br \/>\n3.\u00a0Chopped Ginger\u00a0: 1\u00a0\u00a0 T-Sp.<br \/>\n4.\u00a0Chopped Green Chilli : 5 \u2013 6 (to taste)<br \/>\n5.\u00a0Peanut\u00a0(dry roasted ): \u00bc Cup<br \/>\n6.\u00a0Channa Dal\u00a0: 1 T-Sp.<br \/>\n7.\u00a0Urud Dal\u00a0: 1 T-Sp<br \/>\n8.\u00a0Mustard\u00a0: \u00bd T-Sp<br \/>\n9.\u00a0Dried Red Chilli\u00a0: 3-4<br \/>\n10.\u00a0Asfoetida (Hing) :1 pinch<br \/>\n11.\u00a0Curry leaves\u00a0: 5-6 leaves<br \/>\n12.\u00a0Turmeric Powder : 2 pinches<br \/>\n13.\u00a0 Oil\u00a0: 2-3 T-Sp.<br \/>\n14.\u00a0Salt : to taste<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Add the lemon juice &amp; salt to the cooked (not over cooked) rice.<\/li>\n<li>Heat the oil in a pan, add ingredients 5\u00a0 to 9, fry to light brown<\/li>\n<li>Add green chilli, ginger, curry leaves to the pan and fry for ~2- mts<\/li>\n<li>Add Turmeric &amp; Hing, and turn off the stove.<\/li>\n<li>Pour rice to the pan and mix thoroughly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tips: Oil , lemen &amp; chilli quantity can be varied for individual taste<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lemon Rice &#8211; a\u00a0popular and delicious south Indian rice recipe prepared along with lemon juice and some additions. \u00a0\u00a0Works well and taste great, while you can make it in easy steps even in a hurry. \u00a0Can be a handy &amp; hassle-free lunch-box option for young\u2019s and old.
