In this recipe , methi (fenugreek leaves ), \u00a0is cooked along with prawns (shrimps) and spices. \u00a0Methi leaves are wonder herb known for its ayurvedic medicinal benefits, helps to remove toxins from the body thus keeping the body clean.. It is one of the herbs commonly accepted for its anti-diabetic activity. Nutrition-wise methi is rich in protein, calcium, phosphorus and iron in their natural forms, its mineral and vitamin contents are also very high and is easily absorbed by the body.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Shrimp (prawns) : 250 gm<\/li>\n<li>Chopped methi : 1 \u00bd cup<\/li>\n<li>Chopped onion\u00a0 : 2 cups<\/li>\n<li>Tomato (medium sized) : 1<\/li>\n<li>Chopped green chilli : 3<\/li>\n<li>Ginger-garlic paste : 1Tbl sp.<\/li>\n<li>Coconut pieces : 3 Tbl sp.<\/li>\n<li>Chilli powder\u00a0 : 1 \u00bd Tbl sp.<\/li>\n<li>Turmeric powder : \u00bc T sp.<\/li>\n<li>Oil\u00a0 : 1 Tbl sp.<\/li>\n<li>Salt for taste<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In a kadai\/pan pour the oil and add the onion along with ginger-garlic paste, coconut pieces and green chilli.<\/li>\n<li>Add some salt and fry it until the onion became light brown.<\/li>\n<li>Add the chopped tomato and cook it until smashed.<\/li>\n<li>Now add the chilli along with the turmeric powder and fry it till the color became brown (make sure to not burn it).<\/li>\n<li>Add the chopped methi leaves , salt and fry it for about 2 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Then add the shrimp and mix well and close the lid and cook the shrimp well.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure to open the lid in-between and mix it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/methi-prawns\/methi-prawn-steps\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2290\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2290\" src=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Methi-Prawn-steps.png\" alt=\"Methi-Prawn-steps\" width=\"800\" height=\"329\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Methi-Prawn-steps.png 800w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Methi-Prawn-steps-150x62.png 150w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Methi-Prawn-steps-300x123.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Tips:-<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Typically no need of adding any water but if you see no water oozing out while cooking the shrimp, then add some water while cooking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; This is another methi -recipe from my \u201cnorth indian\u201d cuisine.
