Adding ingredient is preferably one at a time in the sequence given.<\/li>\n<li>Grind the masala in to a coarse fine paste, adding a little water &amp; keep this aside.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Pressure cook toor daal with a bit of turmeric and keep aside<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In the kadai, Saut\u00e9 the chopped pavakka in oil for about 6-8 minutes (until the color changes).<\/li>\n<li>Then add enough water on it for further cooking.<\/li>\n<li>Add Salt &amp; Turmeric and boil further till the pavakkai is cooked<\/li>\n<li>Add the tamarind extract<\/li>\n<li>Allow to boil for another couple of minutes<\/li>\n<li>Add the cooked\u00a0 dal and the Masala paste to the cooked pavakkai<\/li>\n<li>Add Asfoetida<\/li>\n<li>Close the lid and cook for 5 more minutes<\/li>\n<li>Move the kadai out of stove.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/PvP_All1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-132\" alt=\"PvP_All\" src=\"http:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/PvP_All1.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"172\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/PvP_All1.jpg 640w, https:\/\/pepper2salt.com\/sindhus-kitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/PvP_All1-300x80.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><i>For Seasoning<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fry the seasoning ingredients (golden fry the coconut) and add it on the curry.<\/li>\n<li>Mix and serve<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pavakka Pitla Pavakka (Bitter guard) is a well non nutritious vegetable, low in calorie and rich source of \u00a0vitamin B1, B2, B3, \u00a0C, magnesium, folic acid, zinc, phosphorous, manganese, and has high dietary fiber.\u00a0 Bitter guard believed to be plant insulin, known to lower blood sugar levels.
