Salmon fish is typically not considered a good fish variety for Kerala style cooking. Previously I have shared a few Indian style recipes for salmon. Here I share a pan fry recipe with salmon, with rich south Indian style masala blend, that can go as a starter or side dish in to Indian meal menu.
Ingredients
- Salmon : 2 Lb
- Chilly powder : 1 ½ Tbl- Sp.
- Pepper powder : 1 T-Sp.
- Fennel powder : 1/8 T-Sp.
- Ginger garlic paste : 1 Tbl -Sp.
- Tamarind water : ½ T-Sp.
- Vinegar : ¼ T-Sp.
- Salt
- Curry leaves
- Coconut oil
Method
- In a vessel add all the ingredients except the fish, coconut oil and curry leaves.
- Mix it with enough water to make a semi thick masala paste.

- Blend this paste to the salmon pieces and keep it for minimum 30 minutes in the fridge.

- Heat oil in a frying pan and add the fish pieces along with some curry leaves.
- Fry it until pieces are brown.
- Then flip the fish pieces gently and fry the other side too in brown color.
