Milk Peda (Doodh Peda) is very common milk sweet in most of the sweet stalls in India. In this recipe I used the traditional method of preparation, with concentrated milk fat, molded to required shape after mixing with sugar. It can further be enriched with bit of cardamom powder and addition of saffron thread, if needed. The preparation is bit time consuming demanding patience but will be well paid off with its taste.
Ingredients
- Milk 1.5ltr
- Sugar 3Tbsp
Method
- In a heavy bottom nonstick pan add the milk and boil it.
- Keep stirring in-between for preventing to burn at the bottom of the pan.
- Once the milk is starting to get thick, stir it continuously until the milk became solid with almost moisture free.
- Move the mixture into another dish.
- Let it rest to get cool enough to handle (not completely cool).
- Add the sugar and knead the mix well.
- Make the sweet to desired shape.
Tips:-
Sugar quantity may be varied to individual taste.
Garnish with Cherry /Cashew/ Pista for more attractive look and taste
May add ¼ T-spoon cardamom powder while mixing for extra flavor and taste.
