One of the reasons I like to cook Chicken dishes is that the veriety of cooking options opened to me to make the dish delicious. The options widens if you have a gas range oven where you can quickly prepare broiled dishes to its ultimate taste. Here is a delicious broiled chicken-drumstick recipe, where the chicken is marinated with a masala mix prepared of oregano.
Ingredients
- Chicken drumstic : 10
- Oregano : 1.5 T- sp
- Chilli powder : 2 T- sp(adjust)
- Turmeric powder : ¼ T- sp
- Ginger paste : ½ T- sp
- Garlic paste : 1.5 T- sp
- Lemon juice : 1 (adjust)
- Oil : 2 T- sp
- Salt for taste
- Oil for sprinkling
- Pepper powder : 1 T- sp (adjust)
Method
- Skin-out the drumstick and make deep gash in-between to penetrate masala.
- In a bowl add all the ingredients (except chicken and oil for sprinkling).
- Mix everything well, if too thick, add some water and make a paste.
- Add the chicken into the masala paste and coat all the masala into the chicken. (Your may take each drumstick and apply the masala paste, instead)
- Keep it for marinating for minimum 2 hours. I always recommend overnight marinating in the fridge.
- In a baking dish, brush some oil and keep the drumstick in a single layer, sprinkle some oil on top of the drumstick.
- Switch on the oven into “broil” for about 10 minutes.
- Broil the chicken for about 20 minutes or until brown color.
- Take the dish out, flip chicken. Sprinkle some oil and broil it for about 10 minutes or until brown.
Tips:
Marination is very important, overnight marination will give the chicken more juicy and flavorful.
Broiling time may vary oven to oven.
