Another nostalgic recipe. This ice stick is very common in summer vacation time during my childhood days, that we used to kill the summer heat with a few pennies…. The preparation is a tasteful blend of semiya (vermicelli) with milk and sugar.
Ingredients
- Semiya (Vermicelli) : ¼ Cup
- Sugar : ¼ Cup
- Milk powder : 1 Tbl- Sp.
- Vanilla essence : 1/8 T -Sp.
- Milk : 3 ¼ Cup
Method
- Dry roast semia till golden in low flame. I used roasted semia, but still need dry roast for about 30 seconds in low flame.
- In a sauce pan add milk along with milk powder and boil it.
- Once boiled well, reduce the flame and add the fried semiya and mix it well without any lumps.
- Cook it until soft, do not overcook the semiya (don’t forget to stir in-between).
- Now add the sugar and boil for another 2-3 minutes.
- Mix it well and take it out from the stove.
- Let it cool completely and pour the mixture into molds.
- Keep it in the freezer for setting.
Tips:-
- Tips:
- it took me 4 hours to set. Setting time may vary.
- I got 4 popsicles in this measurement.
