Ingredients
- Urud dal : ½ Cup
- Channa dal “ ½ Cup
- Sesame seeds : 3 Tbl-sp
- Pepper cone : 1 T-sp
- Curry leaves(dried) : 2 sprigs
- Dried red chilli : 20 (adjust)
- Oil : 1 T-sp
- Hing (asfoetida) : ¼ Inch-piece
- Salt for taste
Method
- Heat ½ T-sp of oil in a pan and roast the channa-dal along with urud-dal and hing piece; roast it until the dals are golden brown in color. Take this out and keep it aside.
- Heat the rest of the oil and roast the red chillies; keep it aside.
- Dry roast the pepercones, sesame seeds and curry leaves separately; and keep all aside.
- Allow all to cool completely.
- Grind everything together and make a fine powder.
- Add salt and mix all together.
- Keep it an airtight container.
Tips:
- For serving mix the powder with enough oil/ghee (usually use sesame /gingely oil) and enjoy with doas/idli.
- Use always dry spoon for taking the powder.
- Adjust the chilli quantity for your taste.
