Mixed Grain Dosa

P2S_Spl-Dosa

Here is a special breakfast recipe from my kitchen for a healthy way to start a Day. Multi-grain breads are now common in western bakery, especially to get away from the white bread concept. This recipe is for our conventional dosa (pan bread), this time using a bunch of different types of lentils to make is more tasty and healthy. Served with coconut chutney or Sambar, this will make a perfect breakfast dish or even for Dinner. Making a thinner dosa will make this preparation tastier, but you can even try the thicker form, if you are not an expert in making the thinner (paper) dosa.

Ingredients

  1. Raw rice          : ¾ cup
  2. Moong dal      : ¼ cup
  3. Channa dal      : ¼ cup
  4. Toor dal          : ¼ cup
  5. Urud dal          : ¼ cup
  6. Curry leaf       :  2 Sprigs
  7. Dried red chilly          :  1
  8. Salt for taste
  9. Oil/ ghee

Method

  • Soak the rice and dalls together .I soaked it overnight, minimum soak it for 4-5 hours.
  • Grind the rice, daals , curry leaves and chilly together pouring a little water at a time
  • Grind it until the mix becomes a smooth paste .

  • Add enough salt and mix it well.
  • Dialute it like dosa batter..
  • Heat a tawa (dosa-pan), pour 2 ladles full of batter and spread it evenly.
  • Drizzle enough oil/ ghee over it and cook until golden color.
